Classical existentialism taught man to be honest about the true nature of his existential nothingness and meaninglessness. However, it left man in a state of longing how to rise above this condition, if that is even possible. In this book, man embraces the truth about this existence as both a foundation and a jumping off point to create his meaning in his own life. Here we find that all men share a common goal: to find their authentic selves that justify their own existence. This transformative quest is brought about by a confrontation with "crisis"--a physical encounter with the world that brings man to the realization that he and the world do not have the innate value that he once believed. However, by embracing this, one can conquer the mundane irony and suffering that the world offers and find the paradox of value in a valueless world. This is done by the creative act of bringing forth worth and value. Brother-to-brother, neighbor-to-neighbor, man becomes greater by emulating his authentic and true self that has risen above mere flesh and bone. He transforms into not just a true existential being of worth, but into worth and value itself. This has implications on the eternal itself which the traditional Christian has misunderstood and needs to re-evaluate. Indeed, Jesus is the ultimate Existentialist which teaches man about his path from nothingness to worth, which is nothing more than the new existential message. Man can therefore transcend the mere "personhood" that he was born into and find the peace and worth into achieving a true authentic "self".
