Fireworks filled the night sky as Mika Amica and Sasha Chapman welcomed a new year. They celebrated the holiday together every year. As a matter of fact, the inseparable childhood best friends did just about everything together. Rarely could you find one without the other. But this year would change everything. On New Year's Day, Sasha announces that she has been accepted to a prestigious tech internship in the city, leaving Mika all alone in their small town. Before she leaves, Sasha has a parting gift for Mika. A revolutionary new piece of technology that allows the user to instantly travel anywhere in the world. With the promise that the device will allow them to stay close forever, Sasha moves away while a heartbroken Mika stays behind.
