Contributor Bio:  Rissanen, Matti Matti Rissanen is Emeritus Professor of English Philology at the University of Helsinki and a team leader in the Research Unit for the Study of Variation, Contacts and Change in English, at the same university. His research interests include long-term diachronic development of English syntax and grammatical vocabulary and the compilation of historical corpora. Contributor Bio:  Kyt, Merja Merja Kyt is Professor of English Language at Uppsala University. She was the co-editor for Nineteenth-Century English: Stability and Change (2006) and A Reader in Early Modern English (1998) and is co-editor of the ICAME Journal and Studia Neophilologica. She has also participated in the compilation of historical corpora including the Helsinki Corpus of English Texts. Contributor Bio:  Kyto, Merja Merja Kyto is Professor of English Language at Uppsala University.
