IT WAS A HOLIDAY TO DIE FOR... FLATLINE DANCERS is a baffling murder mystery with several twists set in the remote Western Isles of Scotland. Blackly comedic in tone, it follows the fates of the Hitching Harlots - a group of ill-assorted women from Galashiels in the Scottish Borders - who travel to Ondtsted in the Outer Hebrides for a long-awaited weekend of drinking, dancing, and - ultimately - dying. Unfortunately for the unwitting line-dancing ladies, Ondtsted in Old Norse means "evil place"; so, perhaps not surprisingly, the secluded islet is now infested by a psychotic killer. When the group of Harlots begins to diminish at an alarming rate (in evermore imaginative and brutal fashions) it is left to their naturally inquisitive and unpliable leader, Miss Euphemia Dove, to work out why the dance floor is depopulating so dramatically. As a gathering storm threatens the isolated island, this redoubtable lady quickly realises that the murderous situation is one which demands a cool head and a brisk response. But even Miss Dove will be shocked to the core when she eventually confronts the horror which lurks in the shadows for her and her ill-fated companions. This exciting and fast-paced story was written by Gary Mill, a Scottish novelist who recently penned the acclaimed Amazon-chart-topping hit, 'BLACKFRIAR' (an intriguing murder mystery set in the Old Town of Edinburgh). If you love this genre of fiction - and, in particular, the works of the great Agatha Christie - then FLATLINE DANCERS may well be the tale for you.
