J. Michael Willard's sixth novel opens with the garden variety whacking of a Japanese tourist on a tour boat bobbing up and down on a Norwegian fjord. Our hero, Napoleon Jones, is a long way away from his native Florida, home base for this freelance journalist. But, there is a connection. Add into the mix of characters a loopy Disney World executive, an incompetent Scandinavian hit man, an aging, semi-retired mafiosa lieutenant from Tampa's old Trafficante gang and a lovely but much younger than Napoleon country music singer. What do you have? A wild romp of twists, mostly pleasant surprises and, my gosh, romance. There's also a winning Florida Powerball lottery ticket involved, a Sancho Panza-like sidekick and a would-be murderous - but otherwise delightful-ex-wife.
