"American Scream" is a brief look at life in the shadow of the American dream. The poems move from the innocence of the bicycles and first cars of youth, to the disillusionment of "Break Room" and "Masters of Fate," to the cynicism of "ocracies and isms," and the satire of "Wall Street Blues." The poetry is vivid and brief with a tapestry of rhythms, a sprinkling of rhyme, and surprising imagery. American Scream is a thin book of short poems which unfolds into something much larger. These poems are not flower blossoms, but razor blades.
