It is important for teachers to have a clear understanding of the integral role the Mathematical Processes play in planning, instruction, and assessment. Understanding how the Mathematical Processes are used to create assessments will help teachers design experiences that prepare students for those assessments. When students understand how the Mathematical Processes are used to create assessments, it improves their ability to approach and solve problems. Providing teachers with a blueprint for creating manageable assessment tasks will build the teacher's capacity to create valid assessments aligned to the Mathematical Processes.
